Post subject: Polyester cows and cardboard chickens

If God had wanted us to eat margarine, He would have made polyester cows. Margarine does not exist in nature and I refuse to have it touch my lips. My cousin sent me an interesting article that said even flies won't go near it. I know a lot of processed foods I wouldn't touch as a human.
I am a whole foods advocate. I don't think it was intended that we eat processed foods so high in sodium and other substances that we can't pronounce, that our systems go into shock at every meal. I am a lousy cook so I used to buy the little frozen meals. Oh yes they were delicious but I noticed after a while I looked like I was wearing an inner tube all the time around my middle. I started reading the labels only to find that just one of these convenient little meals contained more sodium than I was suppose to have in a week.
The stuff in our food products is a chemical bounty that becomes sludge in our bodies. It binds us up and reeks havoc with our metabolisms and even our immune systems. Did you ever feel like you were still carrying around that lunch you ate 10 days ago.
Now I eat butter and fresh fruits and veggies. I drink milk that doesn't contain BGH. I love eggs and sugar. All those things that man was eating long before there was poly sacchrides and trans fatty acids. Processing food removes a lot of it's nutritional value and flavor We are fat because we are consuming things our bodies don't have a clue how to process.
So I highly recommend eating as little processed food as possible. Try eating freshly cook, preservative free meals for 7 days. You'll soon notice that your taste buds will be able to discern the difference between processed and fresh. You'll lose your craving for the procesed stuff. You'll find you have more energy and feel less bloated and sluggish. You'll even find you are dropping the pounds with less effort.
I know it's so easy to reach for that stuff in a can when you are too tired to cook but you might find a home cooked meal where you control what's actually in it is well worth the effort. Your body will thank you too. |
