eDiets.com® Kicks Off January “Healthy Living Month”

Wednesday, January 05 @ 11:22:00 EST
First annual event to help Americans start, and end, the New Year with healthy habits

DEERFIELD BEACH, FL January 4, 2005 — In an effort to help Americans get, and stay, on track at the start of the New Year, eDiets.com, Inc. (NASDAQ:DIET), a leading online diet, fitness and healthy living destination, has designated January as Healthy Living Month. The goal of this first annual national event is to raise overall awareness and provide free resources that will help a wide range of individuals build on their New Year’s resolutions and achieve their yearlong health, nutrition and fitness goals. Throughout the month of January 2005, eDiets.com is offering a variety of free resources specifically designed to educate and inform health-conscious Americans on how to live healthier.

There’s clearly a need for such an initiative: The most recent eDiets.com survey uncovered a plethora of unhealthy habits, from simply overeating to not exercising. And while a whopping 81% of respondents were keenly aware of the damaging effects their bad habits have on them, more than half seem blasé about the problem, saying that they have a “a few” bad habits, but “doesn’t everyone?” In an effort to educate and inform consumers on ways to live a healthy lifestyle, eDiets.com’s January Healthy Living Month campaign occurs at a time of year when many are more acutely aware of their health and are resolving to make improvements.

Free resources available throughout eDiets.com’s January 2005 Healthy Living Month initiative include:

· A downloadable “Guide to Healthy Living: from New Year’s to the Super Bowl,” an easy manual on how to diet successfully in January to help stay the course until you’ve reached your goal;

· Access to eDiets.com’s exclusive Healthy Living Channel Web site (www.eDiets.com/healthyliving) that includes, among other resources, a myriad of new year-specific nutrition and fitness articles from leading industry experts, interactive polls, professional guidance on healthy living basics, a dining out guide, full results of the eDiets.com Bad Habits Survey and the Diet Age Test Survey, as well as a wide range of interactive health calculators including a Nutrition Tracker, BMI Calculator, Carbohydrate Counter, Exercise Estimator, and a Fat Counter;

· The Diet Age Test, eDiets.com’s new online tool that calculates and compares one’s “nutritional age” to their chronological age, and makes lifestyle, diet & fitness recommendations accordingly;

· eCover feature articles with healthy living and motivation authorities Dr. Phil McGraw, Jack La Lanne, and Anthony Robbins;

· A “Health of the Union” assessment from eDiets.com CEO David Humble, complete with diet and fitness suggestions for the new year from eDiets.com experts Susan Burke, Chief Nutritionist, and Raphael Calzadilla, Chief Fitness Pro.

“As our recent survey uncovered, many expect a weight gain of up to 10 pounds by New Years and anticipate having difficulty getting back on track,” said David Humble, CEO of eDiets.com. “New Year’s resolutions should be positive and motivational if they are to be kept. Through Healthy Living Month, eDiets.com seeks to teach Americans healthy habits that can sustain them throughout the year, and beyond.”
