The Spa at Salishan is the Newest Amenity for Oregon's First and Finest Resort

Salishan Spa & Golf Resort has long been synonymous with a relaxing and luxurious getaway to the central Oregon coast.

Complete with a Scottish-style links golf course, redesigned by Peter Jacobsen in 2004, fine dining, prized wines, deluxe rooms and endless views, the resort helps visitors get away from the pressures of everyday life. With the addition of a world-class, full-service spa, visitors to Salishan will not only get away, but will rejuvenate their mind, body and soul.

The Spa at Salishan is based on the philosophy of respecting the environment and living within the balance of nature. Set on the Siletz Bay at Salishan, the spa's full-service offerings include full-body restorative treatments, relaxation therapies, facials and salon services. Each guest can sit in a men's, women's or coed whirlpool overlooking the bay prior to their session. Each treatment room was designed to create a warm sanctuary, perfect for letting stress and tension slip away.

"Our guests are busy, so when they travel to get away from their everyday lives, they expect a tranquil retreat. With the addition of the spa, Salishan will give our guests not only a retreat but a place to relax, unwind, and renew their spirits. We're excited to have a place where people can be revitalized and emerge ready for whatever they may face," said Tony Pope, general manager of Salishan.

The Spa at Salishan officially opens June 20, 2005, and is part of a major renovation of the entire resort. Cary Collier, a world-renowned spa designer, was a key consultant on the spa and designed the space to allow guests to enjoy the rugged Oregon coastline while delighting in the spa's world-class treatments. The clean, Pacific Northwest elegance contrasts with and ushers in the spa's extraordinary surroundings.

Collier is known for his work at the Ritz-Carlton in West Palm Beach, Fla.; spas at the Four Seasons in Florence, Italy; Hong Kong; and Hualalai, Hawaii; and the Amrita Spa at Raffles Hotel in Raffles City, Singapore. For Salishan, Collier worked with noted architectural firm Ankrom/Moison Architects, based in Portland, to create a space that incorporates the natural light and textures of the surrounding resort.

The spa uses all-natural Kerstin Florian International skin care products for all treatments. It is more than 8,000 square feet with seven different treatment rooms. For more information, visit www.salishanspa.com.
